About this blog

We write articles mainly about visitor management, which helps you to know who is (or has been) in your facility. It is just part of an organization’s physical security processes that protect people and property within and around a building or campus.

"We cut our thefts to zero."

by Andrew Jones

Mr. Mayoros and Lt. Miller appear in one of our videos.

Jack Mayoros, Director of Security at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, has a large campus to protect.

He implemented one of our Threshold for certain areas of the hospital when regular visiting hours are over, such as patient floors, and during normal business hours in one of their physician office buildings.

“We had experienced an increase in thefts over the prior six to eight months,” he recalled. “By funneling people to sign in, and by issuing the visitor pass — getting an I.D. and a name on the person — we cut our thefts to zero in that building. This new I.D. system meets our needs as well as our budget.”

Mr. Mayoros generously agreed to appear in one of our promotional videos, along with Lt. Stephen Miller, a member of his security staff. You can watch the video here.
