About this blog

We write articles mainly about visitor management, which helps you to know who is (or has been) in your facility. It is just part of an organization’s physical security processes that protect people and property within and around a building or campus.

What is a Visitor Pass Registry Book and why is it so great?

by Paul Kazlauskas

The Self-Duplicating Visitor Pass Registry Book identifies and registers visitors in one easy step.
The affordable Visitor Pass Registry Book allows you to sign in and badge visitors in one step. As visitors sign in, the system creates a self-adhesive visitor pass and a visitor log at the same time. The visitor wears the visitor pass (a visitor sticker), which communicates to everyone in the facility that they have signed in. There are many badge styles available to meet any facility sign-in needs. The visitor log serves as permanent record of everyone that has been in the facility.

The Visitor Pass Registry Book provides more security features than any other sign-in system:

  • Identification – The adhesive visitor badge provides a visual alert when worn by a facility visitor.
  • Tracking – The duplicate log tells you who is, or was, in your facility (in case of an “incident”).
  • Confidentiality – The book has a sealed right edge to keep the label sheet and log sheet together, ensuring visitor privacy. Those that sign-in later can’t see who was there before them.
  • Customization – A facility’s name imprint and (or) a logo/mascot makes the badge their own and promotes a facility’s identity. The wording on the badge can also be changed to match the existing security procedures. In addition, custom printed visitor passes make it easy to spot a person trying gain access while using a generic visitor pass.
  • Portability – The Visitor Pass Registry Book can be grabbed on the go in case of an emergency evacuation. The duplicate log will be able to tell you which non-employees may still be in the facility.
  • Expiring Visitor Badges (optional) – The Visitor Pass Registry Book can be used with regular badges or badges that “expire”. Expiring badges are valid today, but are void tomorrow because they change color overnight. They prevent badge reuse the next day and don’t have to be collected from visitors as they leave the building.
