Active shooter training completed
by Andrew Jones
Ron Coleman, National Account Executive with Threshold, last month completed an Active Shooter Preparedness Workshop through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Bob Kolasky, Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Infrastructure Protection, which is part of Homeland Security’s National Protection and Programs Protectorate, certified that Mr. Coleman “has reaffirmed a dedication to the security and resilience of the nation’s infrastructure” by completing this workshop.
The day-long workshop comprised six modules: Recognition, Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery. Participants learned about the history of active shooter events; common behavior, conditions, and situations associated with active shooters; and how to foster communication between critical infrastructure owners and operators and local emergency response teams.
The ASP workshop was hosted by the Office of I.P. It took place at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, Conn.
